Having a bash at a calabash

Tulipwood dyed with walnut crystals. Finished with lemon oil.

What the witch left behind.

Had a bit of fun turning some scraps into these items. I used Staffordshire black on the birch cat and then lacquer.

British Post box

A sycamore box based on a British Royal Mail Post (mail) box.

3x3x3 Pot luck

A Tulipwood pot with texture. The dinky little thing is coloured with Bolgers red and black. Laquer finish. Thanks Les.

Contemporary candle holder

A contemporary design using up some sapele offcuts. Glued the handle ring on with epoxy. Finished with Yorkshire grit and Hampshire sheen High gloss.

Green Pine Apples?

A simple bowl and apples turned from recycled wood. It is a great thing woodturners can do, turning rubbish into practical or precious things. It’s cheap too! Look for your local center.

Inlaid box attempt.

Here is my box in oak with sapele and laburnum inlay plus a milliput band. Wife thinks it looks like a pepper pot – thanks.

A simple goblet. Sorry Chalice in sycamore with a bit of natural edge. Finished with YG and HS high gloss.
