Having a bash at a calabash

Tulipwood dyed with walnut crystals. Finished with lemon oil.

What the witch left behind.

Had a bit of fun turning some scraps into these items. I used Staffordshire black on the birch cat and then lacquer.

British Post box

A sycamore box based on a British Royal Mail Post (mail) box.

3x3x3 Pot luck

A Tulipwood pot with texture. The dinky little thing is coloured with Bolgers red and black. Laquer finish. Thanks Les.

Contemporary candle holder

A contemporary design using up some sapele offcuts. Glued the handle ring on with epoxy. Finished with Yorkshire grit and Hampshire sheen High gloss.

Green Pine Apples?

A simple bowl and apples turned from recycled wood. It is a great thing woodturners can do, turning rubbish into practical or precious things. It’s cheap too! Look for your local center. https://www.communitywoodrecycling.org.uk

Inlaid box attempt.

Here is my box in oak with sapele and laburnum inlay plus a milliput band. Wife thinks it looks like a pepper pot – thanks.
